Appreciation post: That moment I found my squeeze bottle lid in the soup after 20 minutes of looking for it
I spent a solid half hour convinced someone swiped my lid, only to find it floating in the hot stockpot when I went to ladle out orders for the dinner rush on Saturday. Has anyone else had a missing tool turn up in the weirdest place mid-service?

It's funny how the kitchen has a way of hiding things in plain sight like that. Makes you wonder if misplaced tools are just part of some bigger universal joke about how we always find stuff right when we stop looking for it, you know? Did you ever find anything else in that stockpot later on?

Oh man, I feel your pain! I once lost my bench scraper for almost an entire shift and finally found it stuck to the inside of the walk-in cooler door like a fridge magnet. The weird thing is I still have no clue how it got there, but at least your lid ended up somewhere useful instead of just lost forever. Did you at least get a good laugh out of it after the rush died down?

Ngl, I laughed so hard I almost dropped another lid into a stockpot right after we pulled that one out. @mason_murray8, I swear the kitchen elves must be real and they just mess with us for sport.
