During a charity cook-off, my team's signature dish got mistaken for dog food. What's the best way to laugh it off and keep cooking?

Read somewhere that chefs get this all the time. Just lean into the joke and call it gourmet kibble.

At least it's a hit with a different demographic.

Gourmet kibble for a DIFFERENT demographic? Let me guess, they have four legs and a tail. Chefs must be THRILLED to have such picky customers. If it sells, call it whatever works. Just don't expect a FANCY award for it. Somehow I doubt the food critics will be lining up for this one.

What's wrong with calling it gourmet if it's high quality food? Like anthony_wood36 said, chefs know it's just good ingredients made well. The real award is a happy, healthy pet anyway.
