Spent 45 minutes hunting down a whisk at the start of brunch service last Saturday

Turns out the new prep cook put it in the dish pit bin instead of the tool drawer, and I could have saved that whole rush if I'd just checked there first - has anyone else had a missing tool that caused a total domino effect?

I mean, I get that it's annoying, but is a missing whisk really a "total domino effect" situation? You're talking about 45 minutes of hunting, but in a brunch rush that's what, one ticket maybe two if you're slow? I've seen a broken blender or a flat top going down actually kill a service, but a whisk feels like something you could just grab a fork or a spoon and make do with for a few minutes. Maybe I'm just not that particular about my tools, but I'd be more worried about why nobody thought to check the dish pit first instead of blaming the whole rush on one missing whisk.

Buddy of mine @tessalane spent 90 minutes hunting a whisk during dinner rush once.

Nah man, once watched a guy use a butter knife to whisk eggs for 20 minutes straight, stubborn as a mule.
