PSA: Dropped $180 on a rotary chimney brush kit that chewed up my own liner
Bought the 6 inch rotary kit 4 months ago after seeing a few guys swear by them for creosote, and it worked fine on the first two jobs until it grabbed a seam on a stainless liner in a rental over on Grove Street and spun the whole thing loose. Ended up eating the $180 for the kit plus another $1,100 to replace the liner section, which came straight out of my pocket since I had no way to prove it was already failing. Anyone else had a rotary brush grab a seam like that, and did you find a way to run them without trashing older liners?
