The 3-hour soot pile I used to make vs. the 30-minute bag now

Used to just shovel everything into a metal bin and drag it out to the truck. Dust everywhere, took half my afternoon. Last month I started using those heavy contractor bags and a shop vac right at the throat. Seal the bag, done. My back hurts less and the homeowner's porch isnt black. Anybody else think the old way was just stubborn tradition? What do you use for hauling?

Yeah the old way was a hard habit to break honestly. I used to think the whole soot pile thing was just part of the job, like you had to suffer a little to do it right. Then I tried the bag and vacuum setup on a rush job, just to save time, and it blew my mind. Way less dust in the air, no black clouds following me to the truck, and I actually finished before lunch. Now I look back and wonder why I fought it for so long. Sometimes the stubborn way is just what you know, not what's better.
