Rant: I stored my '67 Chevelle under a tarp for 2 winters and just found the real problem
I always thought a heavy tarp was enough to keep my Chevelle safe in the driveway, but last weekend I pulled it off and found condensation dripping down the whole roof. The tarp was trapping moisture underneath, so every temp swing from 20 to 50 degrees was basically raining on my paint. I checked the floor pans and saw surface rust starting on the driver side, about the size of my hand. I put a $60 breathable cover on it and added two DampRid buckets inside, and a week later the inside of the glass was actually dry. My neighbor lets me use half his garage starting next month, so I'm moving it there. Anyone else get fooled by the tarp thing, and what did you do for airflow before you found real indoor space?
