Client in Denver vanished after I bought $340 of parts for their HVAC job
Last Tuesday I ordered $340 in parts for a commercial HVAC client in Denver who had been texting me nonstop for two weeks about how urgent the job was. The day the parts arrived, I sent them a photo of the invoice and asked for the deposit we agreed on, and boom, no reply. That was 9 days ago, and now I'm stuck with a compressor and two controllers that only fit their unit. I even drove by the address on Wednesday, and the building was empty with a lease sign out front. Has anyone had luck getting a deposit upfront from a client who keeps saying their accounting team is slow?
Used to figure if a client was blowing up my phone, that meant they were good for it. Then I ate a $600 order on a guy who ghosted the second the truck pulled up, so now it's half down before I even open a catalog. Sucks about the lease sign too, that building was probably already dead when they hit you up.
