Client vanished for 5 weeks after I special ordered a $1,800 vanity for her bathroom, then popped back up like nothing happened
So I took this bathroom remodel job back in April for a lady in Beaverton. Everything was going fine until we got to the vanity. She picked out this custom piece, paid the deposit, and I ordered it. Then she just disappeared. No calls, no texts, nothing for 5 weeks. The vanity showed up at my shop and sat there taking up space while I'm calling her every few days like a weirdo. I finally had to tell the supplier I might be stuck with it if she never came back, and they basically said good luck. Then out of nowhere she texts me like nothing happened, says she was busy with work, and asks when we can finish. Now I'm sitting here wondering if I should charge her a storage fee or just eat it and move on so I can get paid for the rest of the job. My gut says invoice her for the delay but I dont want to blow up the whole project over it. Has anyone actually charged a ghost fee and had the client pay without a fight, or does that just make things worse?

ghost fee" sounds like what I charge my couch when I sit on it too long
