The call that actually ended with a deposit, because the guy felt bad about his own silence
I had a web design guy in Sacramento vanish for 19 days after I sent him the homepage mockups, so I wrote it off and started hunting for new work. Then he called me out of nowhere on a Tuesday and said he'd been in the hospital with a kidney stone and felt like a jerk for going dark. He sent a $400 deposit that same day before we even talked scope again. I know this is rare and probably not repeatable, but has anyone else had a ghost come back with an actual apology instead of a lame excuse?
