Update: paid $75 for a client deposit contract template and it saved my butt last week
Two weeks ago a guy in Denver wanted a full brand guide and paid half up front after I sent him a simple one page deal. He tried to vanish after I sent the first draft, but that paper had my kill fee spelled out so I kept his $600 and moved on. Before this I lost about $2,400 over 8 months to folks who just stopped replying. What do you all put in writing before you start?

Kill fee spelled out" is smart but honestly half up front already protects you.
