A guy in Phoenix said he would pay me when his "investor friend" got back to him
I was doing some freelance web work for this guy last spring and we agreed on $1,400 for the whole site. After I finished and sent him the link, he said he loved it and just needed to "run it by his investor friend" before paying. Two weeks went by and every time I checked in he said the friend was still looking at it. Then radio silence for 10 days. When I finally asked if everything was okay he said the friend wanted some changes, but he never actually sent me a list of what to change. Around week six I just sent a final invoice and said I was done waiting, and he said "no worries, I get it" and never paid. Anyone else deal with the imaginary investor thing, or is it just me?
Did he also say his "accountant" needed to look at it first? I had a client pull the exact same move with a fake business partner, and I never saw a dime either.
