I'm painting a kitchen and the client keeps tossing in new tasks

We settled on a price for just the walls. Now they want the ceiling and cabinets done too, without discussing more money. Every time I bring up extra costs, they dodge the conversation. Should I stop work until we have a new agreement?

Would you keep working if they won't talk money? I used to think you should just finish, but after a bad job, I say stop now. It saves a lot of hassle.

Yeah, stop now. I learned (the hard way) that if they won't talk cash up front, they won't pay on time either.

I stopped mid-project once and got paid within two days.

How do you think they'll react if you just stop until they pay up?
