Pro tip: a client asking for a 'quick test project' before a real contract is a huge red flag
Honestly, last month a guy from a startup in Austin wanted me to do a full brand guide as a 'sample' to see if we 'vibed'. He said the real project was worth $15k. Tbh, I spent a week on it and then he ghosted. Some people say it's a fair way to check skills, but others think it's just free work. Has anyone else had a client pull this?

A full brand guide as a sample? That's insane, that's not a test, that's the whole job. A week of work for free on a promise of 15k is just theft with extra steps.

The five grand project was just the free sample for the free sample.
