PSA: hitting 50 clients was my wake-up call about red flags
I always thought the more clients you have the better. But after I hit 50 clients last month I realized something different. About 12 of those 50 were total nightmares who argued over every invoice and demanded free revisions. That stat surprised me because I thought only 2 or 3 would be bad. Now I wish I had fired the red flag clients way earlier instead of chasing the number. Has anyone else noticed a specific client count where the bad ones started showing up more?

...and honestly I'm starting to think those 12 nightmare clients were like a weird boot camp for my patience. Every time one of them asked for a "quick little tweak" that turned into a full redesign I felt another piece of my soul leave my body. The wild part is I actually thanked the worst one when I finally fired them because they taught me how to spot a sob story excuse for not paying. Now I just need to figure out if I can spot them before they hit the 3rd hour of arguing over font sizes you know?

Gotta say I see it the other way lol. 50 clients mean you're doing something right and filtering out the bad ones is just part of the game. Those 12 taught you what to look for, that's valuable.

You know what, @cora_west5, I used to think exactly the opposite. I figured if you had to dump that many clients it meant you were picking the wrong ones from the start. But reading this made me see it differently. Those 12 bad apples probably taught you more about what you actually want than the 50 good ones ever could. It's like learning to spot a bad roof job - you gotta get burned a few times before you know exactly what to avoid.
