Question about a client who kept adding 'tiny' changes after we agreed on the scope

I had a job writing a 20-page brochure, and after the third draft, the client kept emailing with 'just one more small tweak' for two weeks. I finally sent a short email saying any more edits would be billed at my hourly rate, which is $85. They approved the current draft that same afternoon. Has anyone else had luck with a simple rate reminder to stop scope creep?

My contract now has a three-revision limit, which @xenam84 would probably hate, but it saves my sanity.

Wait, why is setting a clear boundary a bad thing? I mean, if you already agreed on the scope, those extra tweaks are basically free work. Saying there's a cost for more changes just makes it fair. A client who leaves forever because you want to be paid for your time wasn't a good client anyway.

Yeah, but not every client knows what they want upfront, so a strict limit can scare off the good ones who just need time to figure it out.
