That freelance client who promised me a 50% deposit then spent 3 weeks asking for free mockups
She kept saying she just needed 'one more concept to show her husband' before she could pay, then I saw her new branding on Insta 2 months later and it was basically my third draft. Has anyone else had a client drag out the deposit talk while using your work?

Oh man, isn't it the worst when you can see the final product but they still treat you like a free trial? I've definitely had clients drag their feet on deposits while clearly using my concepts, it's such a gross feeling.

Ugh that is so frustrating. It's like they think we work for free because we're just starting out or something. I had a client who kept saying they needed to "run it by their business partner" and after a month of back and forth they ghosted me. Then their website goes live with my logo and a few of my color palettes exactly as I had drawn them. The worst part is they probably think they outsmarted me by not paying, but they burned a bridge and got a half assed version of my work because I never did the final tweaks they kept asking for. It's honestly theft but good luck getting anyone to care about a few hundred bucks and some digital files.
