Is it really that big of a deal though? People ask for revisions without seeing the work all the time, maybe they just want to make sure you're on the right track. I've had clients do this and it turned out they were just anxious, not trying to be difficult. Three revisions sounds like a lot but it could also mean they're just being thorough and want to get it right. I'd say give them the benefit of the doubt before writing them off completely.

Set a firm limit upfront next time, like one revision before they see anything, and explain why. I've had clients like this and what worked for me was charging a small fee for changes before the first draft, it makes them think twice. You can still be nice about it, just say "I prefer to show you my work first so we both know what we're working with." Three revisions sight unseen is a recipe for wasted time on your end, and that trust goes both ways.

You're talking about giving the benefit of the doubt when someone asks for three revisions sight unseen, but doesn't that just encourage them to keep doing it? If they're anxious, setting that kind of precedent might make things worse for you down the line, right? At some point you've gotta ask if being "thorough" means they don't trust your process at all.
