Appreciation post for the woman at the recycling center who changed my mind on composting

I used to think home composting was a waste of time for city folks like me. Then last spring at the county drop-off on Harrison Street, a volunteer named Carol spent 15 minutes showing me her bin setup. She said, 'You don't need a yard, just a bucket and some worms.' She even gave me her phone number and invited me to see her basement operation. Now I've got two bins under my sink and my trash output is down to one bag every two weeks. Has anyone else had a similar run in that changed how you approach waste?

Carol’s the kind of person who makes you realize small habits really do stack up.

God yes, and the trick is to start with just one tiny change you can actually stick with for a whole week.
