Bought a $40 'solar powered' phone charger that barely works

I got it for a camping trip in Joshua Tree, thinking it would be great to have green power. It took a full day of direct sun just to get my phone from 10% to 35%. Now it's a weird paperweight. Anyone know a real, working solar charger that doesn't cost a fortune?

So you left it in the sun all day? What did the box even say it could do?

Craig.parker is right" lol yeah if you look at the fine print most of those chargers say "works in direct sunlight" or "max output in full sun" or whatever. Honestly I bet his friend just didn't read the manual, it's always something obvious like that. I left mine out on a cloudy day once and got nothing too lol.

Craig.parker is right, check the wattage before you buy!

My friend had the same thing happen last summer.
