Found out my neighborhood's recycling rate is only 23 percent

I was looking at the city's waste management report online last week, and it said my zip code recycles less than a quarter of what we throw away. That number surprised me because we have those big blue bins and everyone seems to use them. I wonder if it's people putting wrong stuff in or if the program just doesn't reach enough households. Anyone else dig into their local numbers and find something similar?

Makes you wonder if that's just how people are with most things they can't see.

Right, because out of sight out of mind is basically the human operating system. I guess our email inboxes are lucky we can't physically see them piling up or we'd have a lot more anxiety attacks.
