Hit 1,200 pounds of compost from my tiny backyard bin this year
I started a small compost setup in my Phoenix backyard last January just to cut down on trash, but I actually weighed everything and ended up with 1,200 pounds of usable soil by December. That's like keeping 40 big trash bags out of the landfill in one year from a single 3x3 bin. Has anyone else tracked their compost output and gotten a number that surprised them?

Miles is probably out there tracking stats for something stupid like fantasy football while real heroes are weighing dirt. It's wild how just paying attention to small routines like this adds up to something huge.

Haha that's awesome! Reminds me of what happened to my buddy Dave when he started composting in his Tucson yard. @kai_ramirez38 you're totally right about those small routines adding up, Dave never weighed his stuff but he did the math on how many trash bags stopped going to the curb and it was something like 30 bags a month at peak season. He was so proud he started telling everyone at cookouts about his compost like it was his new grandkid or something. It's funny how something so simple can make you feel like you're actually doing something real, you know?
