I finally see why everyone talks about rain barrels

I used to think collecting rainwater was just for gardeners wanting free water. But after setting one up, I learned how much energy it takes to treat and pump city water. My barrel saved hundreds of gallons this spring, meaning less strain on the system and lower emissions. Now I get it's a simple way to cut down on that hidden carbon cost.

Yeah I heard something about that, how if even a fraction of homes did it, the combined effect would be huge. Small steps adding up, you know?

One barrel versus global emissions seems pretty small.

Saw something about how all those small cuts add up to a lot of pollution. Makes you think why we even try with big fixes.

Small steps still move the needle.
