Saw a weird mix of solar panels and oil wells driving through West Texas
I was on a road trip through the Permian Basin last week and kept seeing solar farms right next to active oil drilling sites. It felt like looking at the past and the future at the same time. One field had about 50 new panels set up maybe 200 yards from a pumpjack that was still going. Some people say this is a smart transition, using oil money to fund green energy in the same places. Others argue it's just greenwashing and we need to stop fossil fuels completely, not build renewables beside them. What's the better path forward, mixing them or a full switch?

You said it feels like the past and future at the same time, and I see that everywhere now. My local gas station just added electric chargers next to the regular pumps. It's not a perfect fix, but mixing them seems like the only way things actually change in the real world.

Yeah, mixing them is the only way things change. It's a weird, clunky step but it's the real one.

Mason, what happens when the gas station adds ten pumps but only two chargers... is that really a sign of change or just good PR? Feels like they're hedging their bets while still keeping the old money flowing. How long before people start calling that out for what it is?

Ever notice how the same company that sells you gas also owns the charging station down the street? Makes you wonder who's really driving the change.
