The week my town's compost program actually worked
Our county rolled out those green bins last fall, but pickup was always spotty. For three months straight, mine just sat there full. Then last Tuesday, I saw the truck actually stop and empty every single one on my street. I checked the schedule online, and it turns out they hired two new drivers and got a second truck. My bin was empty for the first time since October. Has anyone else had a local service finally click into place after a long wait?

My buddy over in the west end had the same thing with his recycling. His blue bin was basically a permanent yard decoration for like half a year. Then out of nowhere, the truck came two weeks in a row. He said it felt like a weird little victory just seeing it empty on the curb. Makes you wonder what finally got fixed behind the scenes.
