Traded my gas mower for an electric reel mower and my lawn actually looks better after 3 cuts.
I was spending 20 minutes a week fixing carburetors on the old gas mower, so I grabbed a manual push reel mower for $90 and now the grass gets cut cleaner with zero fumes, plus my neighbor asked what I did different.

Wait, your neighbor actually noticed? That's wild. I think people underestimate how clean reel mowers cut compared to gas rotary blades. The scissor action doesn't tear the grass tips, so it stays greener and doesn't brown at the edges. Plus no gas smell or noise means you can mow whenever you want without being that annoying neighbor. I switched to electric string trimmer for the edges and it pairs perfectly.

The quieter operation lets me mow early Sunday mornings without waking up the neighbors.

Yeah I used to think reel mowers were just for hipsters or people with tiny lawns, but @fionanguyen's right about the cut quality. Seeing how green my grass stays after switching changed my mind completely.
