Vent: I used to drive my gas car for every errand, but after seeing the price hit $5 a gallon at the station near my house last spring, I started biking for anything under 3 miles.

Now I save about $40 a week and feel less guilty about my commute, so has anyone else found a small switch that actually stuck?

Seeing the price hit $5 a gallon was my wake-up call too. I used to think biking was just for exercise, but now I grab my bike for any quick trip. It really does add up, both for your wallet and your mood.

Honestly, I was the same way about biking just being a workout thing. But after a few weeks of riding to the store and coffee, I'm totally sold on the convenience. It's way less of a hassle than I thought.

Totally get that shift, it's like you unlock a whole new way of seeing your neighborhood. I started biking to the library and it just feels better than sitting in traffic, you know? And like alex820 said, the mood boost is real. It turns a boring errand into a little adventure, even if you're just picking up milk.
