Watched my neighbor hose down his driveway for 45 minutes during the drought warning
I finally walked over and asked him if he'd ever checked his local water restrictions online, and he just shrugged and said 'the hose is paid for.' Now I'm wondering if I should start a block-wide challenge where we see who can save the most gallons this summer. Has anyone else tried a friendly neighborhood water usage contest without starting a feud?

45 minutes?! Dude was watering concrete like it was a prize rose bush.

Oh man, I feel this. My neighbor spent a solid 30 minutes last week watering the exact same patch of grass by his mailbox. I timed it because I was stuck in my car waiting for my kid to get off the bus. The concrete gets no benefit from that water, it just runs off into the street. I think people just get lost in their own heads, you know? It's like the hose becomes a stress toy or something.

Honestly, it's like folks just zone out and lose all track of time doing the simplest tasks these days.
