Gotta love when "we'll deal with it later" turns into "now we're dealing with it in our living rooms." Real masterclass in procrastination right there.

My buddy Dave had the same problem with his gutters. Said he'd clean them out "next weekend" for about six months. Then a storm hit and water backed up right into his basement. Now he's got a sump pump running 24/7 and a wet carpet smell that just won't go away. Some things you just gotta learn the hard way I guess.
