Ugh, that's brutal. It's crazy how one skipped step can wreck something that expensive. I've seen similar stuff happen when people get in a hurry or run a program they're too comfortable with. Those length offsets are not something to guess on, ever. You gotta make that check part of your routine, like brushing your teeth. It feels like a waste of time until the exact second it saves your machine.

Sometimes even with a check, the tool can be in the wrong spot if your touch off plate is dirty. I mean, I've seen it save the machine but still wreck the part, which is a whole other kind of expensive. It's good advice, just not totally foolproof I guess.
