Found a trick for zero backlash on my Haas last Tuesday

Was running a tight tolerance job in Denver and kept getting .001 variation on my finish passes... turned out my spindle warmup routine was way too short. Anyone else notice their machine behaves different depending on how long you let it idle before cutting?

lol yeah I found that out the hard way too. I started running a 15 minute warmup cycle on the spindle at low rpm and it smoothed out my passes like crazy. Now I just let it idle while I set up my tools and the .001 ghost is gone.

Dude yes, I literally had the same issue last month with my VF-2!

That VF-2 issue drove me crazy for a week. Had to swap out the whole control board before it finally worked right again. Glad to hear I'm not the only one who dealt with that headache.
