Hit a nice little milestone at the shop today
Ran my first full week of production on that new 5-axis Haas we got in March. No crashes, no scrap parts, just smooth cuts all week. Anybody else find it takes a few months to really trust a new machine?

Why would you rush to trust it?

Used to be that I'd wait for at least three independent sources to say the same thing before I'd even consider it. Then I stumbled on a report from a local paper in a town I'd never heard of, and they had an interview with someone who was actually there. That one source changed my whole view because it was so specific about details the bigger outlets either got wrong or glossed over. Now I pay more attention to who's saying it and what they stand to gain.

Whoa, hold on. You really think you can trust it just because one local paper had an interview? I'm glad @zaranelson found something that made sense to them, but I'd be suspicious of that too. I mean, a small paper might not have the fact-checking resources the big guys have, so they could be printing a story that's full of holes. I would want to know who that person was and why they were talking. Just having a specific detail doesn't mean it's true, it could just mean they're a good liar.
