Hot take: nobody talks about how too much coolant pressure actually ruins surface finish on aluminum parts.
I spent three days dialing in a job last week and figured out we were blasting the cut zone so hard the chips were recutting, but after dropping from 80 psi down to 45, the roughness dropped from 32 to 16 microinches without changing the tool - has anyone else played with pressure like that?

Buddy of mine dropped his pressure on a Haas and said the finish looked like a mirror after.

Had a buddy try the same thing on a Mori Seiki last month. He said it cut so smooth he almost cried happy tears.

And yeah @milesbarnes, that's exactly the vibe I got on a Doosan last week. The cut was so clean I actually stopped to just stare at the chip for a second. Honestly makes you question why you ever put up with chatter on cheaper machines.
