Spent 3 hours chasing a .005 offset on a Haas VF-2 before I thought to check the table bolts
Turns out one of the T-slot bolts was loose from the last setup and throwing my vise off just enough to ruin every part I ran, has anyone else had a simple thing like that waste a whole shift?

Yeah, "simple thing like that" always ends up being the most costly mistake.

People ALWAYS underestimate the small stuff until it blows up in their face. It's like, you skip one little step thinking nobody will notice, and then suddenly you're paying DOUBLE to fix it later. Every contractor I've ever dealt with has a story about a "quick fix" that turned into a full renovation nightmare. The worst part is, the person who made the mistake usually shrugs and says "whoops" while you're left picking up the pieces. That's why I always triple check the "simple" things now. It's the most boring advice but it saves your wallet AND your sanity.
