Can we talk about choosing Python over JavaScript for a first language?

I had to pick between Python and JavaScript when I started learning 8 months ago. I went with Python and honestly it made understanding loops and functions so much easier without dealing with browser quirks. Has anyone else gone the Python route and regretted it later?

18 months with Python here. Now I'm cramming Node.js for a job and it's a total pain. All those async callbacks and this/that nonsense would have been way easier to learn first.

Learned Python first too and now I'm just hoping my callback hell doesn't get me fired, ha.
