Learning to code with just a library book felt different
When I first tried coding, I used a book from the library. Today, new coders have tons of online guides and videos, which can be confusing. What's your go-to way to start learning without getting lost?

What's your starting point these days? I always swore by books too, but free video tutorials actually kept me from quitting early on. They showed me the messy parts books sometimes clean up.

Caught a tweet how video tutorials make the messy process feel less lonely, which tracks.

Totally get what you mean, @quinn327. I started keeping a notebook right next to me to scribble down the messy steps they show. It turns that lonely confusion into a plan.

Honestly, my friend tried learning from a book and got totally stuck on one step. Then she watched a video where the person messed up the same part and had to redo it. Seeing that normal mistake is what finally made it click for her.
