Serious question, how long should a beginner's 'quick bug' actually take?

Spent 3 days tracking down a missing semicolon in a JavaScript loop last month, and I genuinely cried at my desk in Austin. Is that normal for a newbie, or should I be worried my problem-solving is slower than it should be? How long did your dumbest bug eat up?

Missing semicolon for 3 days is brutal, but did you finally figure out the root cause or just spot the line? Because if you didn't learn why it was hidden, that might be the real thing to worry about.

Man, that hits hard. Three days on a missing semicolon sounds rough, but honestly, we've all been there where the dumbest thing eats your whole week. The fact that you cried just means you care, and that's way more important than how fast you spot the typo.

Crying over code means you actually give a damn, nothing wrong with that. But let's be real, the semicolon was probably hiding in plain sight the whole time, that's what makes it sting worse.
