That time the printer at the Reno library ate my first Python script and taught me to save backups
I was at the downtown Reno library in 2021 using their public computers to learn Python because I didn't have a laptop yet. I spent about 3 hours typing out a little number guessing game from a free tutorial, and when I hit run the whole screen froze and the file was just gone. The librarian said the machines reset every 2 hours, and I had no backup, so I lost all of it. After that I started emailing my code to myself after every little change, and now I always save a copy before running anything. Did anyone else learn the hard way to back up their beginner projects?
