The moment I saw my first real div layout vs table-based code
I was digging through some old projects from 2018 on my laptop and found a website I built with tables. It took me like 6 hours just to line up columns. Then I opened a recent page I made for a friend's bakery in Portland using flexbox and it was done in 45 minutes. The difference is night and day, how long did it take you to switch over once you saw the benefit?

Yeah but what was the moment that actually made you finally TRY flexbox? Was it a client deadline or just pure frustration?

I used to be the guy arguing tables were fine if you knew what you were doing. Then I rebuilt one of my old table layouts with flexbox in like an hour and felt like an idiot for all the time I wasted.

Respectfully, I see it a little different than most folks here. @logan271 I get why you felt that way, but tables weren't always the wrong call. They got the job done for years when browsers barely supported anything else. Flexbox is obviously faster now, but I still think people act like table-based layouts were completely unusable garbage instead of just older tools. The real issue wasnt tables themselves, it was how much manual tweaking you had to do to handle responsiveness.
