Gave up my french press for a moka pot after 8 years
I used the same french press every morning since college, but after moving to a smaller apartment with a tiny kitchen counter, it just took up too much space. The moka pot makes a stronger, thicker coffee that I actually like better now, even if it took me two weeks to get the heat right. Anyone else switch brewing methods and discover they prefer the new one?

Did you find the moka pot easier to clean than the french press?

Moka pot is way easier in my experience. The french press always left sludge at the bottom that was annoying to rinse out, but the moka pot just unscrews and you can get everything with a quick scrub.

Did you ever have issues with the french press's mesh screen getting clogged up with fine grounds? That's what finally drove me nuts with mine, even with a coarse grind. Tbh the moka pot's just a solid metal basket that you can scrub with a sponge, no fussing with a separate screen.
