Honestly, my morning coffee went from okay to amazing after I switched to a burr grinder
Tbh, for like 6 months I was using a cheap blade grinder and my pour-overs were always kinda bitter and weak. Last week I got a Baratza Encore and started grinding fresh beans from that roaster in Seattle, Olympia Coffee. The difference is crazy, the flavor is so much cleaner and brighter now. Has anyone else had a grind upgrade make this big of a change for them?

My old blade grinder made everything taste like burnt dirt, no joke. I held out for years thinking it was just the beans I was buying. Finally got a Timemore C2 hand grinder last fall and it was like a fog lifted from my coffee. The clarity you get with even grounds is just a totally different drink. I'm kinda mad I waited so long to switch.

Interesting... I've been using the same basic blade grinder for years and my coffee tastes fine to me. Maybe my taste buds just aren't that good. I get what @nathan_kim is saying about new flavors, but for me it's just coffee. Spending that much on a grinder seems like a lot for a morning drink.

Wait, so was it mostly the bitterness that went away with the new grinder, or did you notice new flavors popping up too?
