My neighbor Dave finally convinced me to try cold brew after 5 years of hot coffee
He said my daily French press was making me too jittery by noon, so I gave his 24-hour steep recipe a shot. That $15 mason jar setup from Target actually makes a smoother cup that doesn't wreck my stomach. Has anyone else dropped hot coffee for cold and noticed a big change in how you feel?

Did you find you actually needed less sugar or cream with the cold brew? I switched two years ago and realized my hot coffee always needed a ton of sweetener to hide the bitterness, but cold brew is naturally smooth enough I drink it black now. My stomach issues pretty much vanished too, no more of that sour burn an hour later. The mason jar method is genius, I just wish I hadn't wasted so many years on pour-over gadgets that kept breaking.

Oh man, so that's why I've been rage-buying sugar in bulk. Guess my fancy Chemex is officially retired to the garage shelf.

Stick with the mason jar method, you'll be fine. I've noticed a pattern where people overcomplicate simple stuff in the kitchen. Everyone thinks they need expensive gadgets to make good coffee or food, but half the time a basic setup works better and lasts longer. Same thing with cooking gear - my buddy spent $400 on a sous vide machine he used twice, while my cheap cast iron skillet has been going strong for a decade.
