Took me 8 years to learn you're supposed to rinse your coffee filter before brewing.

Was at a friend's place last weekend and she ran water over the paper filter before putting grounds in. Asked why and she looked at me like I had 3 heads. Said it gets rid of the paper taste. Made a cup with her method and honestly I've been drinking paper flavored coffee for almost a decade. Anyone else find out basic stuff way later than you should?

Paper flavored coffee for almost a decade" haha that's brutal. It's wild how we just accept stuff as normal until someone shows us different. Feels like that's half of adult life really.

Man that's exactly how I felt when I found out you're supposed to store onions in a paper bag not plastic. The difference is night and day and now I can't believe I spent years with sad slimy onions.
