Back issue bins are better than preorders, change my mind
I stopped preordering floppies 2 years ago and started digging through back issue bins at my local shop in Columbus, found 3 complete runs for half the cover price. The hunt is more fun and I actually read what I buy instead of letting a pull list sit in a longbox for months. Anyone else ditched their pull list and gone full bin diving?

Is the thrill of the find part of the reason you switched? I get that completely because it turns the whole trip into a treasure hunt instead of just grabbing a bag off the shelf. The other thing nobody talks about is how bin diving makes you way more open to random titles you'd never put on a pull list. I've discovered some weird indie books just because the cover art caught my eye for a dollar. Plus, when you do find a whole run, it feels like you beat the system, which is honestly a better high than getting a new issue on Wednesday. Do you ever grab stuff that's totally outside your usual genre just because it's cheap?

That hobby lobby podcast I listen to had a whole episode on this last month. They said back issue sales are up like 40% since 2020 while new comic sales keep dipping. I still grab a few new #1s when they look interesting but honestly my whole pull list is now just 3 titles and the other 12 bucks goes straight to the bins. Found a full 90s X-Men run with 60 issues for 40 bucks last weekend and that felt way better than any Wednesday drop.
