Found a trick for sorting my back issues that actually saved me 2 hours
I've got about 400 comics stuffed in long boxes and I could never find anything. Last weekend I started sorting them by publisher first, then alphabetically by series, then by issue number. Took me a Saturday but now I can grab any book in under a minute. My old way was just by release year and it was a mess. Anyone else got a sorting system that actually works or am I overthinking this?

Your mileage may vary but sorting by publisher first is the way to go in my experience. For me the real time saver was separating them by century too like pre-2000 and post-2000, since my older stuff is all bagged differently. Alphabetical by series name then number was the only thing that kept me sane when I hit about 300 issues. Just fair warning though you might end up reorganizing again in a couple years when you run out of box space like I did.

That publisher first method works great until Marvel starts rebooting every series every six months.

Yeah that publisher-first method honestly changed everything for me too, I had nearly 500 issues spread across a dozen long boxes and could never find anything. It took a whole weekend to redo but now I can pull any issue in maybe 30 seconds flat. Idk what I was thinking before just stacking them by whatever came in first, total chaos.
