Got a full run of Silver Age X-Men at a estate sale in Knoxville for $40

I found a box labeled 'old comics' at this estate sale last weekend, and it had issues 14 through 50 in bags. The guy running it just wanted to clear stuff out fast so he let me take the whole box for forty bucks. Has anyone else stumbled on a deal like this and had to talk yourself down from screaming?

Did he flip them or keep a set for himself, @the_mary? Just wondering if that kind of find changes what you collect next.

Yeah but honestly, I could see the opposite being true too. Sometimes finding a bunch of keys like that actually makes you want to sell them, you know? Because now you're sitting on a pile of cash that could let you buy something you actually want to chase, like a full run of something niche instead of just random big books. I had a buddy who flipped a small collection of early X-Men he found for cheap, used the money to grab a complete set of Miracleman (the old Eclipse issues, not the reprints) and he said he never looked back. It might change what you collect, sure, but not always in the way you'd think.

My buddy Steve found a long box of early Ditko Doctor Strange issues at a garage sale for five bucks last year. Said he stood there staring at the box for a full minute trying to look calm while his hands were shaking.
