Got into a heated debate with a guy at my LCS about Silver Age key issues

Last Saturday at Midtown Comics I was flipping through a beat-up copy of X-Men #12 and some dude walks up and tells me I'm wasting my money because the graded market is crashing. Asked him why he cares what I spend $40 on and he just walked away. Anyone else run into gatekeepers like this at their local shops?

Just nod and keep flipping through comics. That usually shuts them up.

The trick works better if you pick something obscure like an old Silver Age issue. Most folks don't want to risk looking clueless by asking about it. @evan_grant70 has the right idea, just don't pick a comic they actually collect or you'll never get out of the conversation.

lol yeah @evan_grant70 that's the move. If you look real focused on the right comic panel they usually just give up and walk away.
