Just had a weird talk with my barber about comic fans and gatekeeping.
He said, 'You guys get mad when someone only knows the movies, but you get madder when they start reading the books and get stuff wrong,' which hit me because I totally did that to my cousin last month over the Spider-Verse.

Remember my buddy trying to get into baseball last season, gracej99? He mixed up the leagues and I totally jumped down his throat about it. Felt awful later, like I was some bouncer at a club he just wanted to join. That gatekeeping thing is a real trap, you get so excited to share your thing you end up scaring people off. My cousin still hasn't asked me about a comic since.

Hold on, you actually yelled at your cousin over Spider-Verse details? That's next level. I get being into the lore but come on, it's family. That barber knows what's up, we make it impossible for people to join in. No wonder your cousin won't talk comics anymore, you probably sounded like a crazy person.
