Okay so I went to my usual shop's midnight release for a big #1 last month and again last night. The vibe was totally different, like way more aggressive. Saw two guys almost get into it over a variant cover. What happened in like six weeks?

Man, that's rough. I was at a shop last week and it felt the same, just super tense. People were grabbing books out of the new release bins before anyone else could look. It's like the fun got sucked right out of the room. What do you think changed, just the hype for that one book?
