Pro tip: Reading comics digitally vs collecting floppies - a debate from a collector who tried both

I spent around $150 on ComiXology last year to try going fully digital, thinking it would save space and money. But after 6 months, I missed the smell of the paper and flipping through my long boxes at home in Portland. Now I'm curious - how many of you actually stick with one format for good, or do you bounce between both like me?

My digital experiment ended pretty quickly when I realized my iPad battery dies faster than my ability to decide which issue to read next. The whole "flipping through a long box" thing is real, even if my back complains about it now. My ComiXology library is basically just a graveyard of books I swore I'd read but never did, while my physical floppies sit there judging me daily. Guess I'm stuck in the middle forever, fumbling with both formats like some kind of indecisive comic raccoon.

Isn't that just how everything is now, stuck halfway between old habits and new stuff that doesn't quite work?

At least a raccoon is good at making a mess look intentional. My ComiXology library is just a digital void where good intentions go to slowly charge. The physical long boxes though, those are the real bosses. They sit there with that smug "remember when you spent $50 on issue #1 of a run that got cancelled after three issues" energy. Guess we're all just shuffling between formats like confused little hoarders with taste.
