Ran into a guy at a comic shop who completely changed how I look at variants
I was at the local shop last Saturday flipping through a bin of new releases and this older guy next to me noticed I was grabbing every variant cover I could find. He asked why I was buying them and I said for the art, but he pointed out I hadn't even looked at the interior pages on half of them. It hit me that I was treating these books like trading cards instead of actually reading them. Has anyone else had a moment where you realized you were collecting for the wrong reasons?

Feel that @mason_murray8, it's a wake-up call for sure.

I mean is it really that deep though? Like buying books for the cover art is kind of the whole point of variants.

Forgot I even had a variant cover of something once and then found it in a box three years later @iris_barnes87, looked way different than I remembered.
